I am going to be framing a very old vellum deed from the 17th century (1666). As part of the framing, I'd like to either frame or attach a small metal plaque that has engraved into it the history of the deed. It could be engraved onto a piece of brass, likely rectangular. It can have one hole on each end so it could be permanently attached to the flat part of the frame with brass nails.
The text to be engraved into the plaque is as follows;
Winterton and Martham, Norfolk - vellum charter of recovery - 1666 AD
The Restoration of several manors in Norfolk to Christopher Sparke of London. This charter of recovery, illuminated with a four-inch border and royal crest, is witnessed by Hugh Hunt and Edmund Hubb. Sir Robert Paston was the previous tenant of the manors returned, which are Winterton Mautbyes, Winterton Beguiles, Winterton Earles, West Bramptons, Martham, Waxham, and East and West Somerton.
The deed was acquired in the 1980s by the late Mr. Harry Minkoff of New Jersey, and was restored in 2012 by his grand-daughter, Lisa M. Rosen of Massachusetts.
