Sculptural clay vessel in rich earth tones accented with cherry wood. The clay form is hand built construction with an incised texture on inset. Layered glazes enhance the inset texture with beautiful contrasting color. The piece is fired a third time in a kiln fueled by sawdust (Pit Firing) to add the smoked surfaces surrounding the inset. The piece is designed around sculpted cherry. The wood is lacquered and waxed to a beautiful finish. Wood is permanently adhered to the ceramic vessel after it is fired. This is a decorative ,sculptural vessel and does not hold water.
