This highboy was built for a client in Chatham, Massachusetts. Its design is based on a number of regional examples. It is built in highly and richly figured cherry with a deep color that was enhanced with aniline dyes and several coats of shellac. All the joinery and carving was done by hand. White pine is the secondary wood with wide board drawer bottoms and a cut-nailed shiplap back. The brasses are from Ball & Ball.
