Massachusetts Linen Press
CustomMade by Eric Jacobsen
This linen press was built from a single set of tiger maple, this means all of the maple is from the same tree. This is especially important with tiger maple as the curl can be quite different from tree to tree. If several different sets were used on a single piece, the grain and type of curl
… will clash with one another. Great care is taken with all of my furniture to ensure all figure and grain is matched properly. This along with great design, craftsmanship and finish are what make this furniture truly one of a kind. The door panels are single wide boards. All of the secondary wood is Tulip poplar all cut on our sawmill and dried in our dry kiln. The poplar case tops and bottoms as well as drawer bottoms are single wide boards, not several boards glued up. All of the joinery is traditional with hand cut case and drawer dovetails and deep mortise and tenon joints. Four adjustable shelves are included. The finish is shellac, the brass door and drawer pulls are from Londonderry Brasses, the finest reproduction hardware available.
This linen press is new and in our current inventory, including the tiger and brass premiums, it can be purchased for $9,660 This piece can also be made to order in walnut, mahogany, or cherry starting at $8,400. Please contact me if you have any questions or visit my website for more information.
