Medusa's story begins with the snakes. When Kai learned to blacksmith in Germany, he learned to forge snakes and other animals from the dull files from the ferriers. The files have the perfect texture for the snake's skin. Her face and body all began from a flat sheet of steel. After many hours … of hand hammering hot steel, her face and body emerged. The snakes were incorporated with the hair and then a sash of copper lays over one shoulder.

Medusa is a cover girl! She was the front and back cover for the ABANA (Artist's Blacksmith Assn of North America) for the Volume 31 (Number 4) Summer 2003 Issue. She was submitted as a sample piece for Kia's work and created quite a response!
