This custom table was a special design for a long time customer and is our most asked about piece. Made from beautiful mesquite, the design incorporates a maple and walnut curve inlayed into the top along with turquoise inlayed in the natural cracks. The S curve inlay is done by completely cutting … the top into two halves following the curve. This was quite daunting at first, taking a beautiful top and cutting it up to inlay the contrasting wood, but came out spectacular. After it is cut, the contrasting woods are then inlayed into the curve and the whole thing is glued back together. The handshaped pedestal base adds a touch of nature to the piece and a unique joinery is used underneath (see small inset photo of this technique). This table can be made out of most woods and in just about any size dimensions and shape you need for your space.
