This was a commissioned project that was meant to present an engagement ring I made for the client as a surprise in a Christmas ornament. The ornament is a hollow sphere made of two kinds of meteorite, Gibeon, an iron, and Huckitta, an aged pallasite. The star and loop on the top are 18k gold and … a small diamond is set on the inside of the top, while the bottom half serves as the ring holder. The etched pattern of the Gibeon meteorite turned out to compliment the star perfectly. The two halves are held together by rare earth magnets.
