Modern Office Desk

A nice oversize office desk made of Black Walnut and Chrome legs.
This desk is 68"long, 34"wide and 31" high.
This desk has wonderful amounts of storage.
The drawer has no drawer pull, but has a neat "push to open feature"... pushing in on the drawer front causes the drawer to spring
… open silently!
This desk has two removable access panels so you can easily reach your computer cables. I can also place those on the bottom of the desk if you want the ultimate in sleekness.
I made a pencil tray of maple to keep your writing instruments handy.
I used heavy, thick steel,and this desk is rock solid!

I use a combination of power tools and old fashion hand tools to create my furniture. I use which ever I think is the best tool for the issue at hand. There sure is something comforting about the sound of a hand plane slicing through the wood fibers!

The dark walnut color will absolutely pop atop the chrome legs.

Here is how the legs looked > 3 weeks ago... already for the chrome plating. I can't wait to see how they look with the shiny chrome!

During a mock up, the joints fit very nice. After the final fit and gluing, this seam should be perfect!

Here I am preparing for a milling operation. Measure twice, cut once! I am very good at making wood shorter... making it longer is much harder!

Well, this might look like star wars, but this is my router with an edge guide and dust collection cutting a small dado to hold the front panel of the desk. I love these Bosch tools!

Here are the chrome legs right from the plating company! They still have a little buffing compound on them but they are pretty. BTW: They are sitting upside down in this picture!

Access panel so you can arrange your computer cables easily! We wanted this desk to be sleek, so we chose magnets to hold the access panels in place instead of hinges.

This drawer is huge, and is full extension with a pencil tray! Nice dovetail joints make this a drawer that should last forever!

Wonderful walnut contrasts well with the chrome!

Doug does beautiful work. I am absolutely thrilled with my bookcase project and he was great to work with during the installation. Doug is also great at communication - we had a dozen emails to clarify every detail so I would be happy with the end result.

Overall I really had a good experience with Doug. I am really happy with the outcome of the desk. We had a small hickup due to a design change but the result was worth waiting for it.

Custom Dining Room Tables project

Doug is easy to work with and will go out of his way to meet your specifications. He is easy to reach by phone or email. He always responded promptly to my questions. Note: I put "not applicable" on the timeliness section because we requested an unusual finish for our table which takes longer than other finishes so we knew we would have to wait a bit for delivery. Cool Timbers had no control over that and Doug was most accommodating. I have seen other tables he has made and , in addition to being well built and pretty, they have a style all their own. His work is solidly built and the finish is professional. We are very happy we chose Cool Timbers for our project and would use Cool Timbers again.

Trestle table

Doug was great, he communicated with me every step of the way to make sure he was delivering exactly what I wanted. The table turned out great and I am very happy with it.
