Olympic Tiger Maple Bench/Table - To celebrate Canada and its 14 GOLD at the Winter Olympics 2010, I decided to design and build a commemorative piece of furniture! The wood choice was obvious, Maple, but like our Olympians it had to be rare and special: Canadian TIGER maple was chosen!
For the
… top, I found a remarkable 6/4 x 17 ½" blank with stunning figure. The tapered legs from 12/4 maple represent the trunk, the strength that holds the top, The Podium.
The MapleLeaf cut into the legs and painted red lives in the Golden Table.
