This piece is hand turned on a wood lathe. I first turn the wood then inlay the elements. I chip inlay the stones that are then hand ground to give a smooth surface. The last element is to apply the silver wire then spray with multiple coats of lacquer. The main body is spalted buckeye burl form California. The lid is gaboon ebony and pink ivory. The inlays are turquoise, azurite, malachite, opal with applied twisted sterling silver wire.
