Painting | Torreys
I have made a number of paintings from colored-pencil drawings executed while hiking in the mountains or the desert. These paintings are created in oil paint on stretched linen. This painting, oil on linen, depicts a fourteen-thousand-foot peak called Torrey's Peak in the Front Range of Colorado. The view is from the southwest, while we were hiking the Lenawee Trail. It was commissioned by the University of Colorado Athletic Department and hangs in the Folsom Field Addition. It measures 40" x 24".
