For me, the fanned leaves on each side of the blue upholstered circles evoke the flat array of the fan palm tree. The hoops are a tribute to the designer Joseph Hoffmann, to the original steambender Michael Thonet, and to bubbles rising in the glass. This version uses steam-bent white oak. I'd like to try it in cherry. Upholstered in damask.
