This plate was hand thrown and trimmed. The design was achieved using engobes a form of underglaze with its main ingredient.. clay. The inside of the piece was glazed with a clear, the exterior with a glaze that looks similar to lava. The piece was then fired to cone 6 and slowly cooled.
