In this instance the clients were looking for a more open and airy look than the typical wood post or column. I was intrigued when they approached me about the project as I had spent years looking at the open metal work columns on mobile homes and thinking it was a concept that had interesting … possibilities. Functionally this worked out nicely as well because I was able create the mounts in such a way that the load was transferred directly to the foundation leaving the Goshen stone pavers able to float.
