Barbara Barran started her design career by cutting stencils to create quilt-patterned floorcloths. She then translated quilt patterns into hand-tufted, hand-knotted, and flat-woven rugs. Barbara was the first person to sign a licensing agreement with the Gee's Bend quilters, whose work has been … shown in museums throughout the US. At these shows, Barbara's Gee's Bend rugs were shown and sold.
