This piece is hand turned on a wood lathe. I first turn the wood then inlay the elements. I chip inlay the stones that are then hand ground to give a smooth surface. I then spray the vessel with multiple coats of lacquer. The main body is red gum burl form Australia. The lid is gaboon ebony and spalted tamarind. The inlay is turquoise.
