Here is a recently built RedLine R-body Pro Model square neck guitar. This one is built with curly maple throughout. The neck also has a 1/4" wide center strip of walnut for appearance and tonal qualities. This guitar has been finished in a Vintage Sunburst, covered with multiple coats of nitrocellulose lacquer. Hardware is chrome, there is a #14 spider and Quarterman cone under the fan cover plate. The bridge is aged maple with an ebony cap. The peghead overlay and fretboard are made of East Indian Rosewood. The fretboard is also bound, with matching flush frets. This guitar also has those three extra elusive small holes between the screened holes, which is quite a rarity on a RedLine Resophonic Guitar!
Further inside this guitar you will find ring and post construction in the sound well area. We make our own posts out of select spruce. They are glued into holes in the cone support ring on the top, and into holes in the ladder style back bracing on the back. An internal baffle of our own design is included with this guitar.
Although this guitar is built to the traditional "Dobro" size, it has a bit more depth, and some other built-in features that allow this guitar to sing right along with the big dogs. Plenty of punch, power, and sustain, along with a rich, full tone. Some folks think these traditional size guitars are a lot more fun to hold and play than the big ones too. You can be the judge of that.
