The client wanted this desk, and matching bookcase, to look like a piece of furniture they had purchased years ago, but wanted it to have a more contemporary feel.

This meant clean lines and a series of drawers for storage of cables. The client wanted these drawers to flow seamlessly with the … top of the desk. They also wanted the hinges to be hidden as there was a chance that the back of the desk might be viewable. I came up with a barrel hinge idea and the client was very happy with the outcome.
