This piece was a great place to explore pattern. I love the possibilities that wood veneer can create when used to form different effects. The color variations and straight grain of the zebrawood help help amplify this pattern. I love Art Deco. There is disciplined austere nature about it that I … think carries over to this piece. This piece was built speculatively after a client had rejected it as part of many idea sketches that I had presented to them. I kept pulling this one back to their attention, but in the end I built it for someone else to enjoy.
