This rocking chair is a version of a design I was exploring before I knew anything about Sam Maloof or his work. Though the chair is very similar to his classic rocker, there are several distinct differences so it is not an attempt to copy his design. However, since he passed away the same time it was completed for a Gallery show, it seemed only right to name it " A Nod to Sam Maloof"
