Light and shadows playing with our eyes was the inspiration for this piece.

This work consists of two layers of fabric, which merge together to form the image. For the top layer I wove transparent linen that I painted with simplified motifs both on the warp and the finished piece. For the under … layer I used fabric collage with methods like painting, dyeing, stitching and appliqué. Combining these layers is the most challenging and exciting part of the process. The end result only presents itself after the two layers are in position and the light influence through the top layer brings out the hues and intensities of the lower layer.
