This is a piece of striking contrasts. Using the lightest woods in the carcase, I ebonized the legs and stained the carvings black. The sides are bent laminations of holly with poplar cores, and the legs are bandsawn from built up blocks of oak. The carved doors reflect the Chesapeake Bay coastal marshes near my Virginia home.
