The "Slab Bench" is made completely of Solid Quartered Oak with Wenge Accents. I have installed what I call "Bowties" or "Dovetails" made of Solid Wenge. The purpose of these dovetails is twofold. First to keep the Solid Slab of Quartered Oak from Cracking and second to Accent the Oak Slab. There is a solid slab of Wenge mortised through the entire length of the bench. The bench is finished with a Hand Rubbed Oil Wax Finish.
