The client that I made this set of railings and newel post has mission furniture using cherry wood n the room adjacent to the stairs. The previous railings and post were colonial. I developed this design and made it as a built-in, meaning that it was delivered ready to install as one piece with the … exception of a small piece of molding. Knowing how to make templates allowed me to construct the project in my shop with a high degree strength and accuracy. The wood is solid cherry with a catalyzed natural finish that is very durable, necessary for a railing and newel post. The project improved the look of the entire living area.
