The Traveler Steamer Trunk Desk incorporates the design and materials found in the original handmade luggage from the early 20th Century.
The closed case measures 57"h, 36"w and 20"d (body is 11" deep and lid is 9")
● 10 ounce weight Duck Canvas (khaki) is stretched over a wood frame (this piece was reclaimed from a 40 year old Barrister Bookcase) and accented with hand stitched leather seaming.
● Attention to detail is evident in the genuine steamer trunk hardware and oak strapping used to strengthen the faces of this steamship era reproduction.
● The writing surface, framed in genuine oak, is 1/8" hand cut and dyed leather, designed to facilitate hand written correspondence (genuine letter writing never goes out of style.) This unique surface can be replaced when needed by simply removing (4) brass bolts.
● Storage consists of 10" wide catalog drawers: 2", 2.5", 3.5" and 5" high, (2) larger file drawers and (6) Magazine File Boxes all wrapped in Duck Canvas as well as a "visor" storage compartment above the desk.
