"Surf's Up" Handsculpted Porcelain Chess Set And Curly Maple Table
CustomMade by Sandra Lance
The concept for this chess set came about after an anniversary vacation to Sanible Island where the shells where abundant, the s and and sunshine warm, the turquoise water beautiful, and the snorkeling amazing! Each chess piece is individually sculpted in porcelain clay. I picked up hundreds of … scallop shells and marveled at the uniqueness of each piece. The King is a King Macherel, the Queen a Queen Angel Fish. There is a drawer on each side lined in ultra suede for nestling each piece when a game is not in process. The color scheme is sunshine golden and turquoise Carribean blue, while the curly maple wood pattern is like the sand dunes or ocean floor. The table is custom made by a local furniture maker here in Vermont and is mortised and tenoned, with dove tailed drawers. Published in "American Art Collector" book, out Oct.2012.

Fish plates, platters and tiles
by John Feb 20th 2013
Wonderful experience working with Sandra! She helped me design a custom fish platter (oversized) and walked me through the whole process. The final product blew our minds... Way more than we ever expected! Sandra is a super talented potter, a great person to work with and her price was very reasonable given how much time she spent with this project. Again, we couldn't be happier with the platter. We plan on using her for any custom work going forward for sure. Thanks so much Sandra!

Small Sculpture
by Peter Nov 28th 2012
I had the pleasure of working with Sandra on a project that means a lot to me. She was very helpful in understanding what I wanted and making suggestions to how to make it a reality. Throughout the project she worked with me on everything and showed pictures of the progress. I felt very comfortable working with her and trusted her judgment. After the piece came in I was amazed on how she was able to take my dream and make it come to life. I would highly recommend and I would use her again if a similar project came up.
