This hearth relief slipped into a recess in the stone facade above a fireplace in a mountain home in NC. The clients were self-described "hard-core Texans" and imminent plans to retire to NC had us focus on how to bring Texas east during the design phase. Fly fishing in the NC mountains was melded with the Texas desert critters and wildflowers in this tight arrangement. Typically woodcarving is a less is more proposition, unless the cast of characters is as diverse and fun as this group/
