This is a slip cast vase, made from a wheel thrown form made by me. I then carve the Iris design and the background design and fire it to a low temperature. I then paint the Iris with glazes and dip it in another glaze for the background color. The last step is firing it to a high temperature, … which provides a durable surface for many years use. It can go anywhere in you home or office and is beautiful to look at even without flowers in it. I have always loved this flower and have taken photos of them and brought then back to my studio to remind me what they look like in the ground.
