I bought this amazing amazing vintage carved 1920's couch at my favorite antique dealers and decided to experiment with a quilting technique. Doing something like this is a bit of an intellectual puzzle, and required at least a week of just thinking about it. I didn't want to make it all squares as … I thought it would be to predicable. When I design for the store I design merchandise in colour palettes and this was for my Flirt group. I added additional items such as custom made lampshades, custom made cushions and hand painted bar stools and a hand painted ottoman. This couch was also featured in The Toronto Star and on the Stephen and Chris Show, which can be seen on the video available on my profile. At Jane Hall Design I design collections based on inspirations from many sources, movies, periods of history and classical design, and global cultures with a modern twist. My style could be called Bohemian Chic.
I believe in the producing unique pieces that are as unique as the individual who is purchasing them. I also strongly believe in the principals of sustainable design, and in supporting my local economy and community by employing local artisans and workrooms
