Walnut Storage Cabinets

These tall narrow cabinets were designed to fit in a small NYC foyer, as an an elegant storage solution for organizing hats, gloves, scarves in the upper drawers and shoes in the lower open cubbies.
The client loved the look of black walnut, but the budget wouldn't allow for solid wood. Our
… solution was to build the cases and drawer fronts of walnut veneer hardwood plywood, saving the more expensive solid walnut for edging details.
Drawers were constructed of solid Aspen with routed slide details. The base is mortise and tenon sapele with an ebonized finish.
The finish on the cabinets is a danish oil base topped with multiple layers of satin poly for water resistance and added durability.

Reclaimed wood table top (in Brooklyn)

Incredible - after months of trying to purchase reclaimed lumber to build a table top on my own, I gave up and turned to Custom Made. I got a number of quotes, and while Robyn's was slightly higher than the others, her list of projects was impressive, she was local, and seemed very inquisitive about the details of my project and knowledgeable about potential options. She invited me to her studio to discuss everything, which was great, and during this meeting suggested a few options for the table's construction which I hadn't even thought of. She read my mind in the wood selection, and the final product was beautiful. She delivered on time, and I now have a beautiful, locally made, one-of-a-kind reclaimed wood table top which will last for years, at a great price. Feels so much better than going to some furniture store and buying something off the floor, or out of a catalog.
