The design of both wash stands was taken from an early 19th century design when they were used extensively in homes, hotels, and other venues before indoor plumbing. One wash stand is made from oak while the other is made from cherry. Both have hand turned spindles secured between the curved supports, which at one time held hand towels. A small drawer holds necessary toiletry items. The wash stands received two (2) coats of a satin finish polyurethane finish.
