The design for this very simple coatrack consisting of six bent laminated sections is derived from nature. Each curve of rift-sawn white oak blends into a pie-shaped cross section where they come together in the center. There were no fasteners or glue used - the pieces are indexed together and lashed with hemp twine in a routed groove. The finish is wipe-on satin polyurethane. This very basic design could easily be enhanced using a combination of different species or changes in the geometry.
