Wheatfield Platter
CustomMade by Carolyn Guy
This is a hand thrown porcelain platter that has been fired to 1300C and glazed with a foodsafe glaze. Because it has been fired so hot it is very hard and resistant to chipping and can be washed in the dishwasher. The double rim has been carved and the surface decorated with wheat I had grown and stamps. It is an aerial illusion to the wheat farms here on the Palouse region of Idaho with the roof of the barn and silos in the middle surrounded by fields of wheat. It measures 14" diameter.
