The Winnifred's Settee is handcrafted using a solid 5/4 inch thick hardwood maple frame with pegged mortise and tenon joinery. All exposed wood is finished using hand rubbed oil and wax. The settee is upholstered using eight way hand tied coil springs and is padded with horsehair and cotton that is covered with muslin. Over the muslin a second layer of cotton is added and then the final cover fabric is applied.
