This piece was created on a piece of Ponderosa Pine. The dragon is etched out and burned, color added with watercolors and water based stain.
Customer can choose color stains and custom background for the dragon.
The Dragon and background were completely etched out by hand and sanded smooth to appear 3D. The blue on the left side of the piece is a part of the Ponderosa Pine and is the color of that particular grain. Over 50 hrs spent working on this on and was handcrafted with love.
Can be custom made on veneered plywood, but the etching / carving of the negative space in the background is not available.
The watercolor was add to bring out the burning.
No frame is necessary for this piece.
Let me know how you would like to display this piece, so that I can add the hanging device for you. Small hooks and decorative chain would work well.
You can see the shadow that the dragon is casting, which creates the 3D appearance that I was trying to achieve.
