Yale Hillhouse Avenue Bridges

CustomMade by Please Email Us At: Info@Sureiron.Com

Fabrication and erection of two 62-foot span, structurally and architecturally unique pedestrian bridges on the Yale University campus.
To realize the innovative bridge design of Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects and structural engineer Guy Nordenson, Sure Iron fabricated a series of bent plate web panels and spliced them together in a "wave pattern." The web panels function simultaneously as the bridge's railing and as a primary structural component. Although primarily for pedestrians, the bridges are designed to AASHTO loads and will support vehicular traffic. This challenging fabrication was featured in the January edition of The Fabricator magazine, and the bridges will be erected in the beginning of 2010.

We currently have a 32 foot replica of this bridge at our headquarters available for sale. Please contact our office for additional information.
