The Yorkshire Cabinet borrows from both Spanish and English influences and is constructed of character-grade alder with knots and swirls on 4 unique doors with 8 flat panels. The two center pocket doors will tuck inside the cabinet to reveal flat-screen tv or conventional tv on pullout/swivel. Outer cabinets have adjustable shelves for all your media needs. The six drawer fronts are pillow carved (cockbead trim is not added but hand-carved from solid wood).
The Yorkshire Cabinet also features splayed bracket feet and an imposing multi-layer crown with highlights of hand-carved fish scale, vertical fluting, with square walnut pegs throughout. Hammered brass English hardware with patina is used exclusively, and all exposed alder surfaces have been hand-planed to lend a primitive hand-hewn look to this otherwise highly refined cabinet.
With modifications, the Yorkshire Cabinet could be used as armoire, clothes closet, a computer desk/library desk for the home office, wine closet, or even a built-in Murphy bed.
The Yorkshire Cabinet is a masterpiece with a heavily distressed, stained, glazed, and finished exterior with acrylic nitrocellulose lacquer applied for vapor resistance. Hand-rubbed and waxed for an Olde World patina, this piece is sure to be the focal point of any room as it is styled to belong in a European castle.
