This ring has a beautiful story! I had made a Montana sapphire ring just like this in sterling silver a while back and posted it on various websites. When the customer saw this ring, they fell in love with it and wanted one as their wedding band.
But... rather than use sapphires that I had in stock, the future bride and groom opted to travel to the sapphire mines in Montana themselves and hunt for their own stones!
After a weekend of hunting, they had come up with a small collection of rough stones. They sent them to me and I had them professionally faceted into round brilliant stones, suitable for use in this ring. In total they had way more stones than they needed and so I selected enough stones to fill out the band that would also be the correct sizes; including the one little pink sapphire that they found!
The ring was made in solid 14k white gold and has a textured strip that runs the course around the ring like a river, surrounding each stone. She wanted a small area of the ring left black on the back so that she would not have to worry about knocking the stones there as much.
The end result is a beautiful ring, with 100% natural stones, that the customer herself dug!
