This chest on chest is based on New Hampshire furniture made by the Dunlap family in the second half of the 18th century. The upper chest is crowned with a cornice molding. Two smaller drawers lead to three full width drawers and a waist molding which defines the two pieces. The lower chest consists of three drawers. The drawers graduate in size, bottom drawer largest, becoming smaller as they go up. The whole sits on bracket feet.
The case is constructed with dove tailed joints throughout, as are the drawers. The primary wood is sustainably harvested Wisconsin cherry, the secondary wood is oak.
The chest provides elegant storage in our living room.
