19th Century Shaving Horse

The customer, who worked for a local Michigan school district, needed to replace the contents of an 19th century log cabin that burned down due to a storm. The log cabin was rebuilt to 19th century standards, using only local hardwoods that were available at the time. The customer requested that two (2) shaving horses be made to be part of the experience at the pioneer cabin by elementary students.
The Plane Edge crafted the shaving horses from 3" thick solid ash and made them as "rustic" as possible, but still met any local codes and ordinances. Several coats of penetrating wood oil was applied as a preservative.

Dimensions: Approximately 16" wide x 24" tall x 72" long.
