1910'S Titanic Style Ladies Suit

1910-1919 was an Era of enormous change in the world. We saw the sinking of the Titanic, World War 1, the fast progression of mechanized vehicles, the forward momentum of Women's Rights, and huge changes in the Social Class Systems. All of these shifts led to new and adventurous Fashion advances.

There were also more call for men's suiting fabrics as women continued to evolve the suit for themselves. With smooth lines and simple silhouettes, these dresses look well on many figures.

Most often they were made in wools and linens, but I have also seen examples made in silks and cottons. Often combinations of solids and patterns like stripes were used to great effect to create these lovely day outfits.
