3/4 Pound Solid Maple Adjusted Grip Wooden Mallet
This unique hand-made mallet was designed by our Barefoot Woodworker for his own use.
After many people commented on it at our shop and then asked to have them made for them, we decided to make them for sale.
Head: 4 3/4" x 2 3/4" x 1 7/8"
Overall Length: 13"
Handle: at head is just under an inch square
at the far end it's under 1 3/4" x 3/8"
A 3/8" whole in the handle makes for easy hanging as it's just a hair larger than a pocket hole screw (which is what I hang it on).
The rectangle head is securely wedged onto the handle and is based off of a European style mallet. Each head is individual inspected for cracks or checks and defective woods (25% of the heads) were discarded.The handle is tapered in two different directions and based off of Japanese style construction. Which means everyone will find a comfortable place to hold this mallet.
We call it the "Coaxer" at our shop, as it's great for coaxing things along.
