After several consultations with the customer about what was to be included in the design and actually laying out the space of the proposed Kitchen Island on their kitchen floor, construction began in earnest. There are eight (8) cabinets arranged into the 4' x 5' footprint and are finished with several coats of lacquer, and include:
1-a left-side shelving cabinet with right-hinge door (a GFI
electrical outlet installed on the outside),
2-a middle open shelving cabinet for cookbook storage,
3-a right-side shelving cabinet with a left-hinge door (a GFI
electrical outlet installed on the outside),
4-a double door cabinet with 2 pull-out storage trays (top
drawer designed to hold all sharp kitchen knives),
5-a cabinet with a mixer lift system (a GFI electrical outlet
installed on the inside and a GFI electrical outlet installed
on the outside),
6-a double trash bin pull-out storage cabinet,
7-a 2nd double door cabinet with 2 pull-out storage trays,
8-a 12" narrow pull-out section for dry goods, etc.

The customer contacted a local supplier for a quartz countertop (extra, not included in the total cost of the Kitchen Island) that was made with a 1"overhang on 3 sides and a 13" overhang on 1 edge to be used as a bar top with stools. A licensed electrician was hired to install the code required electrical wiring, outlets, etc., (the cost is not in in the total cost of the Kitchen Island).
