99 Bottles

This is a study of the bottle form in blown glass. Starting with a loose, primitive shape a series of design decisions were implemented moving the simple bottle into a sculptural expression. A wide range of elements are applied, including bindings and wraps, various juxtapositions of color, water crackling textures, hot forming of feet into balls, claws, and paddles, traditional bit work, sandblasting, and hand rubbing. These bottles are highly imaginitive and decorative, and would enhance any living or work space in a display of contemporary glass form.
