A More Formal Mudroom

Atef came to us from Egypt, via Huston, Texas. HomeComing Woodworks designed and built all new built-ins and woodwork throughout his entire lakefront condo, which he was gutting and totally remodeling. Atef preferred a more formal style. When I submitted the drawings of his new entryway I labeled it as a the "mudroom". Atef said "Can't we call it something other than a 'mudroom'?" I inquired what he wanted to call it? He said, "How about 'foyer"? (with the French pronunciation "foy-yay"). "No, Atef" I said, "You are in Vermont now -- believe me, it is a mudroom!"
