A River Runs Through It

This design of this table was almost dictated to me by the wood itself. A large slab of quilted maple with a raw edge was converted from something useless into something of beauty, using the flaws in the lumber to create a unique design. I carved a pattern of flowing water down the length of the table and the river seems to flow out of a canyon and waterfall off of the end. The table top is a floating design on a walnut base, also hand-carved and shaped. This elegant piece lived in a gallery for a short time and has now been purchased by an art collector. I am happy to make another one similar to it, but no two will ever be identical.

Dimensions: Approximately four feet long, 16 inches wide
