A Very Arizona Ceramic Lamp Base
This is an unusual lamp base that I call "Very Arizona". The glazes capture the beautiful oranges, purples and turquoise colors of the desert. It's fun and whimsical. A bucking horse on the head board, two jack rabbit foot soldiers on each side sitting behind some cactus. In the forground is more cactus and a secret door that leads to ... what ever you would like to hide in there. Regardless of what you hide in there, there is a gecko hiding on the back wall. It's a sculpture that has detail and intrigue. All made from high fire clay. The door is hinged with a wire so it does open and close imperfectly. But that's part of the charm too. It comes with the electrical componants already to plug in and turn on. The black lamp shade is lined with gold foil. The whole lamp measures 18" h x 8" w x 3" d.
I have other images of this piece, such as a close up and a side view. Let me know if you would like to see them and I will be happy to post them.
The style is contemporary folk art and it makes a great area light and conversation piece.
