I made this display table for my wife, Iren Rothenberger, a textile artist. 'Text-iles' - an intersection of words and fiber - was the title of show for which she made this many colored, pleated and calligraphied piece of fabric. Like the magic chords of a gypsy melody, the words tumble form the folds of this accordion.
To present this poem on a horizontal surface initiated the design of this display table with a narrow shelf underneath a glass top, 'framed' by a wide frosted border that invites you to come close and see what is exhibited underneath.
The glass plate seemingly floats on the four posts. The shelf underneath is a rectangular piece of night blue Richlite™. The table can be made to any dimensions to accommodate your own artwork or collectibles. If you are interested in Iren Rothenberges artwork, visit her website.
