"Alto" Steel String Guitar

Over the years I have experimented with making these small guitars. I got an order for a left handed Koa version and decided to make a right handed one at the same time. I have always liked guitars that have Mahogany tops as well as Mahogany sides and back and decided to do this one that way. These are small guitars w/ a 435mm (17 1/8") scale. The guitar tunes a fourth higher to A's (like putting a capo on the 5th fret) with a light gauge set of strings. I have fun experimenting w/ different ways of stringing them up....I'll high string them (Nashville tuning) or toss the low E and move all the strings over and put a .009" on top so the guitar tunes to D's (like a capo on the 10th fret). I have made these for studio musicians and songwriters who want a different, chiming sound. I have sold them as travel guitars. I think they are a blast to play and, in all honesty, is the first guitar I pick up to play at home! All small guitars have a thick plush TKL gig bag made of rip stop nylon.
