Custom Hanging Sculpture - American Board Of Radiology Installation, October 2013
These five hanging sculptures are hanging in the newly remodeled building for the American Board of Radiology in Tucson, Arizona. Their building was remodeled this year; the remodel is modern, sleek, and stylish with a lot of greys, grey textured granite floors, and steel colored metals as accents. My art totally compliments their intended style and finished look. The five sculpture hang down, staggered, going from the second floor down to the first, following a curvy staircase. The material that I used to construct the sculptures are steel, aluminum, wood and fused, Dichroic glass. Dichroic glass is the emphasis to my pieces; its sparkle and luminescence enhances any space. ... and I love texture and depth, this glass has those elements! The measurements of each sculpture is 54" x 10" x 12". The first prototype I created was all steel and weighed in at 43 pounds. I switched to the patterned aluminum and the weight was 23 pounds! Quite a difference! Each one's color is a little different and the style of the glass was a little different in each on, but all had many different shades of blues, turquoise, and purples in the fused glass design.
